The Tax Authorities of Curaçao have announced that they are now actively enforcing compliance with the UBO Register registration requirement, and have started imposing fines for failure to (timely) register in the UBO Register.
Under the National Decree on UBO Registration (PB 2024 nr. 58), all entities that were registered in the trade register at the time the legislation took effect on June 7, 2024, were required to complete their UBO registration. The original deadline of July 1, 2025 was extended by the Minister of Finance to September 30, 2025.
With this deadline now passed, the Inspector has started to take enforcement action against entities that have not fulfilled their registration obligation.
If your entity has not yet completed its UBO registration, it is important to act without delay. Ensure your UBO registration is in order and avoid further risks.
Have you not yet completed your registration? Now is the time to take action. Non-compliance may result in financial penalties and other adverse tax consequences.
